This past weekend I had the WORST sweet tooth. No matter what I did, whether it was chug water, have a healthy snack, or chew on gum, it simply could not be satisfied. All I wanted was some rich, creamy ice cream, but as a lactose intolerant that would only bring me more pain and suffering. Plus, my workout motivation was no where to be found so I just couldn't afford the calories.
My solution? Homemade fro-yo. The dairy free way.
First I gathered the necessities. I mixed one serving of Silk soy yogurt, roughly one cup of frozen tropical fruit, and just enough almond milk to blend them together.
I used a tropical fruit blend of peaches, pineapple, and strawberries. You can use any kind of frozen fruit that sounds good to you, though. When you blend everything together, make sure it's not runny. It should be a little bit thicker than regular yogurt.
To blend everything, I used my Nutribullet MagicBullet to blend everything. I've used a lot of blenders, but this one is miles beyond any other. It's fast, easy to clean, and compact. It really has no flaws.
I poured the mixture in a bowl and let it sit in the freezer for four hours.
Voila! Craving defeated. And I had no regrets while licking the bowl.
