Over Memorial Day weekend I was lucky enough to have the chance to find surprises in my hometown. I wanted to use downtown as a backdrop so I headed to town on Monday. I didn't really have a specific shot in mind, I just love the juxtaposition of old, rundown Main Streets with pretty outfits. I discovered several walls, like the gorgeous Coca Cola mural/advertisement above, to shoot against, and I'd be lying if I told you my eye went straight to the clothes.
I love the way the elements have broken down these painted bricks. I'm fascinated by the busted walls and empty lots where full buildings used to stand. There's a story in them, but aside from asking my dad if he knows anything, I'll never really find out. So the writer in me gets to imagine a story, and I absolutely love that. Here are a few little snippets of the other shots I took, but the stories I've imagined for them are still in transit.
What do you think the stories are for these snapshots?
